Instead of candy, they’re dressing up for isafety/i. /p pWatch! As the “rhino” walks slowly towards the security force! Listen! To the very dramatic music! Look incredulously! As the “rhino” is pushed aside by small poking sticks! Laugh! As two guys in a rhino costume are shot with tranquilizer darts from a van! I only wish all emergency preparedness drills were this hilarious. + Palm Treo Pro Coming to US Through Sprint? [Palm] By admin 31 October 2008 at 9:59 am and have No Comments

pimg src=”http://cache.gawker.com/assets/images/gizmodo/2008/10/palmtreoprosprint.jpg” align=”left” hspace=”4″ vspace=”2″ style=”display:block;” /If Sprint’s website is any indication, and it probably is, the Palm Treo Pro will be arriving to the service sometime in the near to far future. There’s no formal page for the Europe-only handset at this time, but it’s been spotted in a product drop-down menu (pictured here). If you’ve been waiting to upgrade your Palm on your Sprint contract, know that the currently available 800W is basically the same thing. Both handsets run Windows Mobile and feature a 320×320 screen, GPS and Wi-Fi. The Pro is just a bit thinner with a nicer battery. + Amazing Costume is Either a Kid Dressed as a Mech or a Mech Dressed as a Kid [Halloween] By admin 31 October 2008 at 9:40 am and have No Comments

Bad news! Your costume sucks compared to this kid’s, which is amazing. It’s a homemade chicken walker mech costume, and it is so badass I can’t quite put how badass it is into words. I think between this and the a href=”http://gizmodo.com/5064476/homemade-mega-man-costume-looks-just-as-good-as-the-real-thing”Lil’ Mega Man costume/a we can conclude that Halloween is the best time for awesome dads to work on really fun, nerdy costumes with their kids. What can I say, I’m a sucker for familial bonding mixed with awesome walking mech children. And check out this adult-sized AT-ST walker costume:/p pimg src=”http://cache.gawker.com/assets/images/gizmodo/2008/10/Winnah_ATST_2008.jpg” class=”center” width=”600″ height=”450″ style=”display:block;float:none;” /Clearly, walkers are this year’s Amy Winehouse costume. + Best Use of an LED Yet (Eating Children) [Halloween] By admin 29 September 2008 at 8:00 pm and have No Comments

Is it still called a Halloween costume if you wear it all year long? Regardless, this anglerfish mask utilizes an LED to entertain friends, distracting them before it opens wide and engulfs their head a la mutant symbiote. OK, we might have presented that explanation without complete factual accuracy. There are actually a number of LEDs that light up before the mask bites your friends’ heads off. So it looks pretty cool in the dark:

+ Worst. iPhone Costume. Ever. [Iphone Costume] By admin 24 September 2008 at 7:20 pm and have No Comments

Seen at the Valley Fair Apple Store here in the Bay Area, some guy’s protesting Apple for something or other while wearing a homemade iPhone costume. Did your mom help you make that costume, sir? Because you should really ask her for help—she’d be able to pick out a nicer typeface and better looking icons. Best of luck to your cause, whatever it is. [Thanks Michael!]
