Add a Gantt Chart to Your Google Spreadsheet [Project Management] 29 October 2008 at 7:30 pm by admin

You just need to enter task start and end dates, percent completed, and track dependencies; the folks at a href=”http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dp6J6Bw92d4eurl=http://googledocs.blogspot.com/2008/10/recently-google-docs-team-started.html”Viewpath created a handy demonstration and tutorial video/a. It’s free and relatively easy (though you may run into platform and browser problems if you aren’t using Internet Explorer or Firefox, and even then, I had no luck on a Mac). Probably best for smaller projects, as it would be difficult to display or print a particularly long or complicated series of tasks. But it’s a good introductory tool and costs infinitely less than Microsoft Project. div class=”related”a href=”http://googledocs.blogspot.com/2008/10/recently-google-docs-team-started.html”Featured gadget: Gantt charts in spreadsheets/a [Official Google Blog]/div/p br style=”clear: both;”/

RealDVD, the DRM-laden, DVD-copying commercial software from the folks who brought you RealPlayer, has been taken out of commission by Hollywood studios. Luckily you already know how to rip full DVDs to your hard drive for free without the nasty DRM, so you should be just fine. [via]

+ iRex: something awesome this way comes By admin 18 September 2008 at 8:04 pm and have No Comments

Filed under:

All we have right now is an ominous, glowing shape that might represent an e-reader of some sort and the promise (threat?) that “Seeing Is Believing.” Following on the heels of Sony’s vague e-book announcement, it seems that the folks at iRex also have something big planned. Sony will be keeping quiet until October 2, but over at iRex the bomb drops Monday.

+ Sprint HTC Touch Diamond Now Available Online [Touch Diamond] By admin 14 September 2008 at 1:00 pm and have No Comments

True to their word, the folks at Sprint came through and put the HTC Touch Diamond up for sale today at Sprint.com, just as we said they would. Nothing’s changed since we confirmed the September 14 release date 10 days ago, and that includes the $250 price tag, with a two-year contract, and $100 mail-in rebate. The $200 price point we yearned for earlier did not make a surprise appearance today. Bummer. [Sprint]
