Navigon launches "uber-premium" 4.8-inch 8100T navigator 10 November 2008 at 7:49 am by admin

In an effort to make sure you’re well aware that the 8100T is the most premium possible, even better than ultra- or mega-premium, Navigon has definitively described the aforesaid navigator as “uber-premium.” So, now that the bar is set at an unbelievably high level, how’s about an outlay of the sure-to-be-phenomenal specs? We’re talking a 4.8-inch display, brushed-metal housing, a 3D view using NASA terrain height data, free real-time traffic updates for life, voice destination entry, Bluetooth handsfree support, text-to-speech and an inbuilt lane assistant. The only question left is simply this: is all of that uber enough to warrant the $599 price tag?

+ Microsoft’s desktop-equipped mass transit bus is a boss’ dream By admin 10 November 2008 at 7:38 am and have No Comments

Those 45 to 90 minutes you spend stuck in traffic each day, inhaling noxious fumes and watching your paycheck dwindle in the form of consumed gasoline, are about to get a lot more nightmarish should you choose to ride this. Though the origin of these images are unknown, we’re assuming they were snapped somewhere in Asia (or the ninth circle of Hades); essentially, this here public transportation option enables riders to login via a connected PC and get to work before work technically begins. Of course, we’ve all ideas most riders just fire up Quake III and get a little LAN action going, but seriously, what kind of torturous mind thought this up? Ever heard of telecommuting?

+ Circuit City files for bankruptcy By admin 10 November 2008 at 7:16 am and have No Comments

Even after shutting down 155 retail stores and announcing plans to cut around 17% of its 43,000 employees, Circuit City couldn’t avoid the dreaded bankruptcy court. Today, the Virginia-based company (along with 17 affiliates) petitioned for Chapter 11 protection in Richmond as it attempts to survive under the crushing pressure from Best Buy / Walmart. Beyond that, details about the outfit’s future are unclear, though Best Buy has reportedly stated that it “might take over stores that distressed rivals close.” Please, no.

+ Nintendo’s DSi gets cracked wide open By admin 10 November 2008 at 6:53 am and have No Comments

It’s only fair, really. We’ve seen both the DS and the DS Lite exposed under the camera, and now it’s time for the DSi to suffer the same humiliation. As expected, things are pretty packed on the motherboard, and there’s oodles of green underneath the white lettering. For more images of the DSi’s internals (and rainbows, and maybe a few unicorns), give the read link a click.
